The Honeymoon (Days One and Two)

So after Steph and I got married, we did the old traditional thing and went on a Honeymoon. It was pretty cool. Here are some of the pictures.

So our plan was to drive from LAX to San Diego. On the way south and into the city, Steph wanted to see some beach. So we stopped by Mission Beach, whereupon we found some food -- A little pizza place.
We had been married less than a day at this point.

The pizza was really really good. Just one of those places where they cooked the pizza a few hours before and then they stick it in the oven when you order it. But the crust on this pizza was kind of sweet, which in turn made the pizza really good.

After we checked into our room in San Diego, we cleaned up and drove to Old Town to get some food.
While waiting for our table, we stumbled into a graveyard, where I went ghost hunting/busting.
LisMarie's dad told us to check out the Old Town Cafe. The place was pretty good. Steph had some crazy enchiladas and I had a Torta (which wouldn't be my first on the trip).
The next morning, our plan was to go to Coronado. In our attempts to find the ferry we found these huge hotels instead. I like the paintings that we saw at the Grand Hyatt:

We decided to forego the ferry to Coronado, and instead drove over. We wanted to hit the beach. I was the brave one, and decided to take a dip. The water was not warm, but I found myself to be an excellent body surfer.

After we got crispified, we went over to the Hotel del Coronado and dreamed what it would be like to be rich enough to stay there.
One of our highlights of the trip was renting bikes at the Hotel del and crusing around the town. While doing so I thought about the serious profit that our bike renter was making. I paid 10 for the hour, he paid 5 for the bike. Way to go!
After bike riding, we decided to take a recommendation from our friend Jen. She recommended Yummy Sushi right next to the Hotel del. The place turned out to be really yummy, and the waiter hooked us up with free Coke, because we were so indecisive about our beverage choice. We got some yummy tempura vegetables for appetizers.

After cleaning up again, we headed over to Balboa Park, which was fairly close to our hotel. Balboa park is this huge space filled with Museums, the San Diego Zoo and totally rad architecture.

On our way out we saw that they were doing a free silent Movie with organ accompaniment. The 10 minutes that we heard was totally cool.
